Is it stupid to be inspired by a movie? Also is this idea any good?

It's not stupid to be inspired by a movie or book. That's the beauty of it. How do you think artists get inspiration? I've used multiple books and films to create artwork. It also works vise versa with film producers and authors using art to inspire them.
